Product Introduction

 

  KPQ340Y-16C skewed hemispherical ball valve is a new generation of high-performance ball valve, it is widely used in long-distance pipelines and general industrial pipelines. Compared with the floating ball valve, the working force of the medium pressure in the pipeline before the valve on the ball is transmitted to the upper and lower bearings, the ball will not move relative position, and the valve seal ring should have sufficient pretension by the spring force. To ensure the sealing of the valve, the sealing surfaces at both ends of the product are evenly stressed, the operating torque is low, the sealing performance is safe and reliable, and the service life is long. The item is particularly suitable for long-distance pipelines and urban gas supply projects.

Features of Skewed Hemispherical Ball Valve

  1. The structure of the product uses the principle of eccentric tightening, through the transmission mechanism to tighten, adjust and close the valve. The sealing pair is a metal face ring with hard surface contact sealing. The double skewed structure is located in the hidden ball chamber when it is opened. The flow cross-section is large, and the valve is not washed away. The valve core is not washed when closed. When opened, the spherical surface of the valve core is progressive along the valve seat, effectively removing the scaling obstacles, and achieving reliable sealing. It is particularly effective for the mixed flow transportation of two-phase mixed flow that is prone to scaling solid precipitation.
  2. The hemisphere of the valve is made of bimetal, and different alloys are welded on the base metal. The valve seat is also subjected to special treatment for surfacing welding, and the sealing surface is combined into various types such as corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high strength, etc. Which can meet the needs of different occasions.
  3. The reliable sealing performance make sure that there is no any leakage during conveying harmful gases.
  4. The valve core of the sealing pair has a compensation amount. When the valve seat is worn, people just need to rotate a little more when it is closes, its sealing performance is still reliable. In addition, the user unscrews the compression nut, and the valve seat can still be reused after adjustment or replacement, avoiding the disadvantage of the entire unit being scrapped after the valve seal fails.Surfacing welding of different alloy (or combination balls) bimetallic seal pairs can be used in wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, high-temperature resistant and strict sealing conditions.

 

Installation&Maintenance

  1. The ball valve has been tested for various performances such as strength, sealing, and switching according to the "valve inspection and test" standard before leaving the factory, so as to meet the requirements of the standard, and remove the oil and debris inside and outside the valve cavity. Both ends are sealed with caps.
  2. Before installation, the user should check carefully whether the content of the nameplate is in accordance with the conditions of use. It is not allow to install and use the valve with overpressure-temperature grade.
  3. Before installation, KMO recommends that the caps at both ends of the inlet and outlet should be removed, and check carefully whether there is dirt adhering in the valve cavity. At the same time, checking whether the bolts, nuts and packing glands of the connection parts of the valve are loose. If they are loose, they should be tightened.
  4. Connect the ball valve to the pipeline according to the designed connection method. After fixing, the valve should not withstand large tensile, compression, bending and twisting stresses to avoid damage to the valve.
  5. The transmission mode of the ball valve includes manual, worm gear transmission, pneumatic, electric, hydraulic and other driving methods. Wrench (or handle) is used for manual operation. Pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, etc. are installed corresponding drive devices above the ball valve. Please refer to the drive device manual for specific matters.
  6. The wrench (handle) can be turned 90° to open and close the ball valve. Turn the valve stem clockwise to close the valve and turn counterclockwise to open the valve.
  7. For manual ball valves, the top of the valve stem has a groove indicating opening and closing, and the top of the ball valve also has a limit mechanism indicating the opening and closing state. When the wrench (handle) and the groove are in line with the pipeline, the ball valve is in the open state. Conversely, when the wrench (handle) and the groove are perpendicular to the pipeline, the ball valve is in the closed state.
  8. The ball valve should be stored in a dry and ventilated place, and outdoor storage is not allowed. Channels at both ends are blocked with heads to prevent debris from entering.
  9. During storage, the ball valve should be fully open to protect the ball sealing surface and the valve seat sealing surface.
  10. If the ball valve is in a status of long-term storage,  it should be regularly checked to remove the dirt in the inner cavity and grease the processing surface.
  11. If the ball valve is installed in the pipeline, it should be checked regularly to make sure everything is normal. If there is any problem, you need to repair it immediately. 
  12. When the ball valve used is disassembled and reassembled, KMO reminds that it must be inspected and tested in strict accordance with the relevant national standards and issued with a certificate before it can be used again.
  13. When there is medium pressure in the ball valve, it is strictly forbidden to replace or add packing, and it is strictly forbidden to disassemble any parts on the valve and loosen any strong parts, otherwise it may cause an accident.
  14. The storage, use, maintenance and troubleshooting of valves shall be recorded in detail.
  15. It is not allow to carry out welding, maintenance or parts replacement under the state of valve under pressure.
