Operating Principle: 
RF Hygiene SS 304 /316L Stainless Steel Welded Butterfly Type Ball Valveused in food, beverage, wine  are a type of quarter-turn valve used to regulate the flow of a fluid. The valve mechanism requires a 90-degree turn to go from the fully open to the fully closed position. The basic butterfly valve has three primary components: A disc, a stem, and a seat.
The disc is a thin, typically circular, metal plate that opens or closes the valve. When the valve is opened, the disc is aligned parallel to the fluid flow, allowing unrestricted flow. When the valve is shut, the disc is perpendicular to the fluid movement, using its surface area to prevent flow through the pipe.
The stem is a shaft that transmits motion from the handle or actuator to the disc. In some applications, the stem may be combined with the handle or disc as a single component.
The valve seat seals the gap between the pipe flange and the valve disc to provide shut-off. The performance of butterfly valves is heavily dependent on the quality of the seat construction and its ability to seal.

Working Princliple
This kind of valve can be handled both by manual or an electric actuator and also can be operated by a pneumatic actuator.
 
Electirc actuator or penumatic actuator is to covert the axial movement of piston to be 90° rotation of valve shaft.So that the valve can be open or close to achieve the requirement of control and open/close for the pipeline system.They have three type of actuator:normally open(NO),normally closed(NC) ,air/air(A/A).
 
Multi-position handle regulates the valve by 15° in its open or close 12 seat and achieve control of medium flow purpose.
Pulling handle regulates the valve through four multi-function positioning,in its open or close four position and also achieves control of medium flow purpose.
